Understanding Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)

Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) play a crucial role in promoting mental health and wellbeing within the workplace. Our programs provide employees with easy access to professional support, helping them to navigate personal and work-related challenges effectively. At Life Therapies Victoria, we recognize that a healthy work environment is essential for productivity and employee satisfaction.

Benefits of an Employee Assitance Program to Your Organisation

  • Prevention Over Recovery: Investing in mental health resources can significantly reduce the risk of serious health issues, minimizing the costs associated with recovery and absenteeism.
  • Improved Productivity: Healthy, supported employees are more engaged and productive, contributing positively to the overall work atmosphere.
  • Confidential Support: Employees can seek help with complete confidentiality, allowing them to address sensitive issues without fear of repercussions.
  • Tailored Services: Life Therapies Victoria offers customisable EAP options to meet the unique needs of your organisation.

EAP Services Offered:

At Life Therapies Victoria, our EAP services provide extensive support tailored to your organizational needs:

  • Confidential Counselling: Each employee is assigned a code for their sessions to ensure total privacy.
  • Session Offerings: We provide a structured framework of six sessions per employee annually, with options for monthly sessions based on organizational requests. If your needs differ to these options, we will work to ensure we tailor a program which fits your organisation’s needs.
  • Flexibility in Location: Employees can choose to have sessions either at our Warrandyte location or online.
  • BYO Psychologist Option: Employees can continue seeing their preferred mental health professional and receive reimbursement for their sessions.
  • Ongoing Assessment: We conduct annual review meetings to assess service effectiveness and make necessary adjustments.
  • Workshops and Training: We organize specialized workshops to enhance mental wellbeing and educate employees about available EAP resources.
  • Crisis Support: In times of critical incidents, our team is available to provide immediate assistance to affected staff.

Read what a local law firm has to say about the Life therapies Victoria EAP:

“As a law firm handling matters involving sensitive content and often high levels of conflict, ensuring we have an effective EAP in place for our staff has been a top priority. We investigated numerous EAP options, however, but no program was able to meet our core requirements. Particularly, we were keen for our staff to be able to maintain existing therapeutic relationships if they already had them, and have the option to “BYO” their own counsellor or psychologist and have this funded via our firm’s EAP.

Life Therapies were willing to work with us to design a program that worked for our team. While many of our staff BYO their own practitioners, many others have also taken up counselling with the panel of local practitioners supplied by Life Therapies. Feedback from the team has been positive, and we appreciate the responsiveness of Life Therapies to design a program that works for us.”
